THE EYE FOUNDATION EXPANDS TO WORLD CLASS FACILITIES

In the month of June 2003, The Eye foundation has moved to an ultramodern facility in the heart of Coimbatore on D.B.Road, next to Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan. In this centrally air- conditioned six storied building spread-over 65,000 sq. ft. devoted exclusively for eye care, there are five operation theatres. These operation theatres are connected via satellite to renowned eye hospitals world wide to exchange information and see their technologies through a video conferencing facility
This hospital has 16 consulting rooms, 12 Optometry rooms and more than 40 patient rooms of different categories. There is also a separate male and female general ward. There is a spacious canteen for the patients, which will provide hygienic food throughout the day at subsidized rates.
A 200-seater auditorium and a conference hall connected by video to the operation theatres is the venue for medical conferences, symposiums and training programme. Well-equipped laboratory inside the hospital can give all pathological diagnosis for the inpatients. KOREAN JOURNALIST Undergoes LASIK at THE

Lee Jaeho a Journalist working for a reputed Journal in South
Korea, had been wearing glasses with minus power since 8 years.
After thorough research on lasik treatment and comparing quality

| VISION DEFECTS - ALARMING

The
Eye foundation has conducted free vision screening camps in
around 53 schools in coimbatore & Tiruppur examining acound 52904 students,
since last 6 months.This exercise revealed that around 8864
students had defective vision, which they were not even aware
of!.Those with defective vision were given concession for detailed
consultations and advised corrective action
The Eye Foundation
continues this endeavor, as a part their community service
activities.

IOL - GOOD NEWS FOR HIGH POWER GLASS WEARERS - Feb

Phakic
IOL implantation is a most advanced Eye surgery of German Origin.
An artificial imported lens is implanted inside the eye without
removing the natural lens to correct the very high refractive
errors, which cannot be treated with Lasik (15 & Above). This
is a boon for patients with these high powers, who had no other
treatment so far.
Dr. Ramamurthy
was one among the three surgeons in India, who were given
training on this procedure at Germany. Already
one patient has undergone this surgery, which is having excellent
result and few other patients have booked for this surgery.
